Resources/Materials Needed:

The only resources that I needed for this International Fair were for the actual night of the fair.  We held our fair in the cafeteria of the school.  We set up tables for our project and our food.  Our parents donated the plates, napkins, cups, and drinks.

Procedures:

Please see the handouts I provided my students that detailed the different types of projects they could choose from, and a list of the countries of the world in which to choose is also included.

Evaluation/Reflection:

This is the second year that I have done the International World’s Fair.  Each year we do it with the rest of the seventh grade in the school.  We each choose a section of the world in which to do our projects so they do not overlap.  My section of the world was North/South America and Europe.  My students really enjoyed it, but were disappointed that some of the countries that they really wanted to know a lot about were not on the list for them to research.  However, they chose a country that they did not know a lot about and gained a better knowledge of the people and culture of the country.  It was very successful again this year with over 500 people in attendance compared to about 200 the previous year.
